Back to Africa

In January 2023 I will revisit Africa for the first time since 2005 and 2008.

Part will be new – a Roads Scholar “Southern Africa by Train: South Africa, Mozambique, Eswatini & Zimbabwe” trip.

Part will be revisiting the Cape Town area to visit health professions educator colleagues, sights I loved such as Kirstenbosch Gardens, Cape Point and Table Mountain, and of course craft art!

Here are a few photographs from 2005 and 2008. I wonder what will be the same and what will have changed?

On this trip, I hope to capture vistas from three new countries – Mozambique, Eswatini, and Zimbabwe -- to add to my Page’s Pages Around the World and possibilities for the 2024 calendar! Since the mid-2000s, I have produced an annual calendar to support the global mission of the Foundation for the Advancement of International Medical Education and Research to advance quality in health care education worldwide and improve health care for all.

And there is still time to get your 2023 calendar! Here’s the multilanguage cover!

THANK YOU for supporting the global health purpose of FAIMER. I particularly value the friendships I have made with many of the 1600 alumni from our programs since 2001. We are ONE global world improving the health of all.

I appreciate all the feedback I have gotten from my blogs and posts – I am really enjoying this way of keeping in touch with art lovers and colleagues around the world.

Follow me on my Facebook or Instagram pages for occasional posts of the trip!
